Obituary:
Pittsfield- Lorrielei A. Hyer, 54, loving wife and mother, died at her residence and was delivered into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 3, 2012, following a long and fulfilling life.

Lorrielei was born November 27, 1957, in Perth, New Brunswick, Canada to Clarence and Leona Butler. She had a wonderful childhood growing up in various cities in Maine, Massachusetts and Connecticut. She attended Enfield High School and graduated in 1976. Lorrielei married her soul mate, Robert M. Hyer Sr. on September 24, 1977, and enjoyed 34 years of marriage.

She resided with her husband Robert in Enfield, Connecticut, and then eventually moved to East Hartford, Connecticut, where she worked as a certified nursing assistant. She expanded her career to work with families with physically and mentally handicapped children through various agencies. She made it her life work to help others that were less fortunate and needed assistance.

In the mid 1990’s Lorrielei became disabled and was unable to work due to illness; however, it did not stop her from helping others. From the mid 1990’s until her death, she made it her life’s goal to assist others in any way possible. Lorrielei took it upon herself to reach out to others in need with whatever resources she had from emotional and monetary support to just being an open ear to anyone that needed to talk. In March of 2007, she moved with her husband to Winslow, Maine, where they resided for one year. Her one dream in life was to own a home and in July of 2008, she and her husband Robert moved to Pittsfield, Maine, where they purchased their first home, a fulfillment to one of her life’s goals.

Throughout her time in Pittsfield, Lorrielei was a member of Saint Martin’s Episcopal Church which led her to Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Waterville, Maine. Although she could not attend regularly due to her illnesses, she was a devoted Christian who practiced the teachings of Jesus Christ on a daily basis.

Lorrielei was very artistic. She was able to craft items from various items and scraps making lifelong decorations. She enjoyed watching movies, especially horror films and in her free time she liked reading books. Her favorite authors were P. C. Caste, Stephen King and James Patterson. She enjoyed gardening and creating her flower garden around her house.

She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Hyer Sr. of Pittsfield; son Robert M. Hyer Jr. of Pittsfield; mother Leona Butler of Limestone; mother and father-in-law, Phyllis and Harold Hyer Jr., of Jacksonville Florida; brothers, John J.
