Pittsfield- Earle A. Nelson, Jr., 81, died, Monday, January 18, 2010, in Pittsfield.

He was born in Limerick, Maine, on December 29, 1928, the son of Earle and Orrie (Young) Nelson, Sr. He married Vada Doherty on November 27, 1959 and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage together.

Earle was a hard working man. He was a dairy farmer for many years as well as a furniture maker.  He was very giving to others and was willing to help anyone in need.  He enjoyed watching westerns and going to yard sales.

He is survived by his wife, Vada Nelson of Burnham; his daughter, Susan Gerry and her husband, Scott, of Burnham; his 3 sons, Clifford “Bruce” Lovely of Sidney, Barry Lovely of Columbus, GA and Richard Lovely and his wife, Donna, of Casco; 4 grandchildren, Melinda Lumb and her husband, Mike, of Burnham, Stephen, Joe, and Sherry; 2 sisters, Alice Sisco of Hartland and Arlene Hill of Amesbury, MA, and his loving dog, Chico.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Lancaster; a granddaughter, Terry Hebert; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
