Obituary:

 

St. Albans- Boyd V. McNally, 62, died peacefully on Monday, June 28, 2010, in Waterville.

He was born on March 27, 1948, in Waterville, the son of the late Irving and Delta (Perkins) McNally.  He graduated from Hartland Academy with the Class of 1966 and married Becky Bryson and together they raised their family.

Boyd was a self-employed farmer working with dairy cows and then selling hay.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching sports.  He became an avid fan of cheerleading when his daughter took up the sport in the sixth grade. He could be found watching most all of the competitions.

He was a member of the Hartland-St. Albans Lions Club and a past member of the Pittsfield Elks Lodge #2713.  He was President for over twenty years of the Big Indian League and was influential in getting the new playing field for the team.  The field was named after him and dedicated to him this year, The McNally Field.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Becky McNally; his son, Kevin McNally and his wife, Stephanie, of Dexter; his daughter, Kacey McNally of St. Albans; his 2 twin granddaughters, Shawnee and Regan; his step-mother, Carolyn McNally; a sister, Esther Plourde and her husband, Robert, of St. Albans; and a special daughter-at heart, Tammy Raymond, of Fairfield.

He was predeceased by his parents and 4 infant brothers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, July 2, 2010, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, July 3, 2010, at the St. Albans Union Church, Main Street, with the Rev. Lewis Bell officiating.  Interment will immediately follow at the Maloon Cemetery, Grant Road, St. Albans.
