St. Albans-William G. Brackney, 79, died peacefully with his wife Carol by his side, Sunday, March 11, 2012, at his home in St. Albans. He was born in Warren, Michigan on November 8, 1932, the son of Robert and Goldie Brackney. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He married Carol Belleghem in 1954 and together they raised their family. Bill enjoyed working with electronics and was employed for several years at Marja in Sanford, Maine. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and especially liked the peacefulness of living on the lake in St. Albans. He was a member of Deeper Life Assembly in Pittsfield. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Brackney of St. Albans; sons, Michael Brackney of Acton and John Brackney and wife Lily of Michigan; daughter Sheryl Taylor of Rochester, New Hampshire; an adopted son, Michael Campbell of New York; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Donald; sisters, Mary and Patricia; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and 6 siblings. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., with a funeral service at 7 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev.
