Obituary:
St. Albans-Barry L. Musmon, 66, died peacefully Sunday, April 8, 2012, in Bangor. Barry was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts, the son of Harold and Jeanette Musmon. He proudly served our country in the United States Army in Fort Bliss, Texas, at White Sands missile base and was a generator instructor. He married Barbara on June 29, 1968 and together they raised their daughter, Maxine, who gave her father such pride in the wonderful mother she is today and the woman she has become. He was an engineer, developing hardware and software designs for many computer companies including Wang, Data General and Honeywell. He was a pioneer in the computer field and owned his own software development company and designed software for KVCAP and Maine Children’s Home. He also was employed for a few years at Varney Ford in Newport. Barry is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara Musmon of St. Albans; his daughter Maxine Melancon and husband Bob of Worcester, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Adrian, Jason, Crystal, John and Jessica; great grandson, Gabriel; a sister, Elaine Phinney; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Eddie Musmon. Barbara would like to say many thanks: to her Maine family for all the love and support, to the Tim Horton’s motorcycle friends for making his final year so enjoyable, to the doctors at the Veteran’s Health Administration in Togus for their wonderful care and concern, to Rhonda for all the hugs, and to Eastern Maine Medical Center for making his final stay so professional with such love and compassion. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield, for a time of gathering with refreshments shared. It will be concluded with a time of remembrance and a military honors presentation for Barry’s service to our country. His motto was “we can make more money but we can’t buy back tomorrow.” To leave a message of kindness for the family, please visit www.shoreynichols.com.
