I had not seen Uncle Dick since our family moved to Mississippi, but fondly remember visits to Pittsfield when I was a kid. He did his thing and lived a full life. I was always impressed by his ability to build airplanes and other things!

I’ve been looking for a picture that I remember from a happier time and place…
My brother-in-law, Richard MacGown, clean shaven, crew cut smiling in the summer sun with a hayseed in his mouth is about to pilot a plane. I and my young husband were about to fly. Was it Dick who recommended that I Richard Bach? I think so… Jonathan Livingston Seagull. So many years to remember…
I am so sorry for all of the MacGown family and extended family. My heart is heavy and I love you all.

Dear Sandra and Family,
Richard MacGown was my first 'school' friend when we walked across the bridge and up the hill to the Brick School where Freda Taker was waiting to welcome us, and 13 years later we graduated from Paris High School. Richard was always a friend and a gentleman.
Sincerely,
Eleanor Gay Tracy
