I wish there were more moments in an hour, hours in a day, more days in a year and more years in a lifetime. However, those moments, hours, days and years will always be treasured memories of laughter and love that will remain just as timeless as Uncle Doug will remain in all of our hearts. I wish there was always more time, as time had passed to quickly since we had seen him last. My heart goes out to you Aunt PJ, as there was so much love to remember and cherish and to Tyra as you begin to build your new family as I know he is looking down so proudly from up above. Where there is such a great loss to be mourned there is also so much love to be remembered.

Doug was a very good friend of the family for many years. All of us kids would all go swimming at the swimming hole in Carmel. He was always cheerful, helpful and had the heart of gold. It is said that when you lose someone special, you gain someone special. I believe this is such the case as we welcome his grandson into this world. My thoughts are with you Tyra and PJ....stay strong.

Dear Polly Jo, Tyra & family - Doug's time on earth on earth was cut short, but during his time here, he accomplished much. He made numerous and lasting friendships at high school, of which I was one, he married a special person, Polly Jo, whom I'll always hold close to my heart, he helped to raise a fantastic daughter, Tyra, whom I adore, he worked hard at his job over the years, kept a well-manicured yard, and always had a smile. He once saved my daughter's life as she choked on a tootsie-roll - and for that alone, I'll always remember Doug with fondness. Such a blessing is his sweet little grandson, Cayden. May you find comfort in the good memories of days gone by. Hugs and prayers to you and to the Woodard family.
