Obituary for Arlene L. Pullen

DEXTER-Arlene L. Pullen, 84, died peacefully on February 26, 2020, surrounded by her loving family in Dexter, Maine.

She was born on June 16, 1935, in Ripley, Maine, the daughter of the late Guy and Thelma (Leo) Gould. She graduated with the class of 1953 from N.H. Fay High School in Dexter. She married Everett Pullen in 1955 and they shared 65 of marriage.

Everett and Arlene lived on a dairy farm for several years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, making crafts, gardening, canning, and giving the neighborhood kids their driving lessons. She loved babies and had a deep love for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Everett Pullen; three sons: Sheldon Pullen and companion Priscilla Wiedeen, Mark Pullen and companion Stephanie Chabot, and Steve Larrabee; grandchildren: Heather Pullen and fiancé Erin Smith, Heidi Doucette and husband Scott, Holli Pullen, Amanda Grove and husband Rusty, and Markie Pullen and wife Allyssa; great-grandchildren: Devan, Jordan, James, Charlotte, Trevor, Abigail, and Peter; a special niece Linda Gould; a special nephew Mike Gould; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sonja Anderson.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her brothers: Gerald “Jed”, Gene, Albert, and John.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dexter Nursing and Rehab for their care and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2020, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, Maine. A graveside committal will take place in the spring at the Ferndale Cemetery, in Ripley, Maine.
