Obituary for Bruce A. Brooks

BERWICK-Bruce A. Brooks, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 5, 2018, after a lengthy illness.

Bruce was born on November 28, 1933, the son of the late Vern and Ruth (Corliss) Brooks. He proudly served our country as a Corporal in the United States Army National Guard from 1952-1955. Bruce spent over 30 years working at Somersworth Shoe and the last years of his career he was a finished carpenter for New England Homes.

The last nine months of his life he spent with his family and was healthy enough to create many wonderful memories that will last forever. He loved the Lord, his family and enjoyed attending church, especially under his son’s leadership.

He is survived by his son, Rev. W. Al Robbins Jr and his wife Laura of Berwick, Maine; his daughter, Linda L. Robbins King and husband Keith of Longview, TX; 7 grandchildren and their spouses; 22 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friend, Ethel MacDonald and her family and countless friends around the area.

He was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife, Ada Brooks.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2018, in the chapel on the grounds of the Evergreen Cemetery, Cemetery Road in Berwick, with Pastor Al Robbins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to a ministry of your choice in Bruce's honor.
