Obituary for Dennis Lee Shannon

DETROIT-Dennis Lee Shannon Sr, 59, died at his home on April 17, 2020, in Detroit, Maine.

He was born on April 10, 1961, the son of Pearl M. Dixon Shannon. He served our country in the United States Marines and also in the National Guard. He was employed at SAS Shoe for over 20 years before becoming an oil burner technician for Waldo County Oil and eventually he operated his own repair business.

Dennis was a happy out going guy, always having a fun nickname for everybody. He was a hard worker and liked to be active. He really enjoyed camping, fishing, and having family barbeques.

He is survived by his three children: Jennilee Shannon and fiancé Charles Woodard of Detroit, Dennis Shannon Jr of Waterville, and Michael Shannon and companion Samantha Chase of Burnham; special son, Scott Tilton and fiancée Becca Bendure of Old Town; five grandchildren: Kiana Lyn Sheltra, Carl Tilton, Carter Shannon, Madeline Farrington, and Alison Shannon; siblings: Ronnie Shannon and wife Maria, Jeff Shannon, Kathy Shannon, Penny Whittaker, and Glen Whittaker; a special niece Ashley Ponziani and her two children, Jackson and Lilly; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Pearl Dixon Shannon; and two siblings: Eddie Shannon and Linda Shannon.

A summer barbeque will be held to celebrate Dennis’ life.
