Obituary for Everett F. Graham

EXETER-Everett Francis Graham, 89, died peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2020, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Exeter, Maine.

Everett was born on April 19, 1931, in Greenville, Maine, a son of the late Leslie and Marie (Blanchard) Graham. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. He attended Husson College and received his degree in Business Administration in 1954. He married his soulmate, Phyllis Peasley on November 23, 1955 and they shared 64 years together.

He owned and operated Graham’s Debeaking for 40 years. He served as the Town Manager of St. Albans from 1960-1962. He was a Grade Foreman for Thomas DiCenzo Construction, and after retirement, he was employed for 19 years by Varney Ford in Newport.

Everett cared about his community and contributed in many areas. He was part of the supervisor committee for the credit union of the Hartland Tannery, a Selectman for St. Albans, and also had served on the school board of SAD #48. He was a Past President of both the Snow Devils Snowmobile Club and the Nokomis Music Boosters. He was a member of the Hartland-St. Albans Lions Club and served as Treasurer for 35 years. He and his wife attend the Hartland Baptist Church.

In his younger years, Everett enjoyed dancing. One of his favorite places was Goodwin’s in Dover-Foxcroft, because that is where he met his bride. He enjoyed woodworking, taking care of his yard, and watching the Red Sox.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Graham of Exeter; son, Brian Graham and wife Paula of Newport; daughter Brenda Crane and husband Jim of Exeter; five grandchildren: Matthew Graham and wife Ashley, Breanna Graham and fiancé Seth, Ryan Crane and wife Sarah, Andrew Crane and wife Chelsie, and Allyssa Pullen and husband Mark; nine great-grandchildren: Landon, Paxton, Piper, Julian, Everett, Levi, James, Charlotte, and Aurora.

Services are to be determined. There will be a military committal at the Village Cemetery in St. Albans at a later date.
