Obituary for Richard W. Taft Jr.

ST. ALBANS-Richard W. Taft Jr., 54, died on August 12, 2019, at his home in St. Albans.

Richard was born on July 4, 1965, in Woonsocket, RI, the son of the late Richard and Lorraine (Moyen) Taft Sr. He grew up in Rhode Island and settled in St. Albans 28 years ago. He was employed for many years at the Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna and more recently at the Tasman Leather Group in Hartland.

He had a robust personality! He liked to be outdoors enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and watching the wildlife. He was family orientated, put others before himself, and very giving and compassionate.

He is survived by his children: Doug Lombard and companion Heather Thompson of Cambridge, Malinda Tozier and companion Joshua Tremblay of St. Albans, Heaven Mooers and husband Doug of North Waterboro and Brandin Taft and wife Nicole of Harmony; grandchildren: Samantha, Gaige, Joslyn, Jordan, Avah, and Teagon; great grandson, Jovanni; siblings: Bobby Mucciarone and companion Nancy Coolidge of Dexter, Deb Cunningham and companion Art Jette of Cambridge, Shirley Belanger and husband Roger of Corinna, Mike Taft and partner Jim of FL, Marc Taft of Corinna, Kevin Taft and companion Jill of Solon, Donnie Taft and companion Jamie Bertrand of FL, Gil Belisle and wife Lisa of RI, Brian Taft and wife Lisa of RI, and PJ Belisle of RI; stepfather, Dale Curtis of Dexter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; stepmother, Muriel Taft.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the Dexter Pentecostal Church, 48 Railroad Avenue, Dexter, Maine.
